Boys risk serious injury as they use escalator handrail as slides in China
On November 30, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, two boys were caught using an overpass escalator as a slide, sitting on the handrail and sliding down at high speed. This dangerous act was recorded by a passerby and has since sparked widespread attention.
The video shows the boys ignoring warning signs and safety regulations, treating the non-operational escalator as a slide. They sat on the handrail and slid rapidly from the top. During the descent, one boy landed heavily on the ground, creating a highly risky situation.
According to witnesses, the boys appeared to be quite young. The overpass was three stories high with a steep escalator slope, yet they enthusiastically used it as a slide. Concerned for their safety, one witness crossed the road to advise the boys to stop and leave.
