19th International Tripitaka Suttapath Festival begins, thousands of Buddhist monks and devotees from 37 countries participate in Bodhgaya,Northern India

On 2 December, Monday A grand procession was taken out as part of the 19th International Tripitaka Sutta Recitation Festival.
The journey, which started from the Royal Thai Monastery, passed through the main roads of Bodhgaya and ended at the Kalachakra Maidan. Thousands of Buddhist monks and devotees from 37 countries of the world participated in the procession.

The entire area was drenched in spirituality as the devotees chanted the mantra “Buddha Sharanam Gachchami” accompanied by traditional musical instruments. This scene on the streets of Bodh Gaya became a symbol of a global religious gathering.

This program of Tripitaka Sutta recitation will continue for the next ten days. In this the teachings of Lord Buddha will be recited. Followers of Theravada sect of Buddhism consider it a symbol of humanity and world welfare. During the program, wishes for world peace, happiness and prosperity will be made.

Tripitaka is considered a sacred text in Buddhism. Its recitation is a source of spiritual energy and peace for Buddhists.
