Chennai, Tamil Nadu - Cyclone Fengal made landfall in Tamil Nadu, India, bringing strong winds and causing widespread disruption. The cyclone, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, started making landfall in Villupuram

Eyewitnesses reported seeing birds in distress, struggling to fly in the strong winds. Trees were swaying violently, and power lines were seen snapping, causing power outages in several areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Nagapattinam, and Cuddalore. The IMD warned of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges along the coast.

The Tamil Nadu government has taken precautionary measures, evacuating people from low-lying areas and setting up relief camps. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed to assist in relief and rescue operations.

The cyclone is expected to weaken as it moves inland, but the IMD has warned of continued rainfall and strong winds over the next 12 hours.
