Drone footage filmed by David Munjishvili on December 1 shows the dramatic escalation of protests outside the Georgian parliament in Tbilisi. The video, which has amassed 7.1 million views on social media, captures a chaotic scene where riot police deploy water cannons and tear gas grenades, while protestors retaliate with fireworks and lasers.
David explains, “You can clearly see water cannons from riot police and fireworks from the protestors. Riot police even started using fireworks and lasers—they stole these ideas from the protestors.”
The protests erupted after Georgia’s Prime Minister announced a suspension of talks with the European Union regarding membership until 2028. Demonstrators are demanding the government uphold its constitutional obligation to pursue EU integration, a move widely seen as vital for Georgia’s future.
As tensions rise, the fight for freedom and Georgia’s European aspirations continues in the heart of Tbilisi.
