On December 1, a tense incident unfolded at Xi'an Railway Station in Shaanxi, when a two-year-old boy accidentally fell into the narrow gap between a train and the platform. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, the child was safely rescued.

Surveillance footage shows that at around 2:58 p.m., train C202 was about to depart from Xi'an Railway Station. The boy, who was following his mother, missed his step while boarding and fell into the approximately 25 cm (10 inches) wide gap. Han Penggang, a police officer on duty at the platform, immediately called for assistance from the platform staff.

Despite multiple attempts by the child’s family and staff, they initially could not pull the boy out. With departure time approaching, Han lay on the ground, calming the child and instructing him to raise his hands and stand up. This allowed everyone to grab the boy’s hands and lift him to safety.

Thanks to the timely rescue, the boy suffered no injuries.
