This is the moment a frustrated farmer finally catches the owl that has been killing his geese or leaving them with serious injuries.

Footage shows the farmer holding the big-eyed culprit in one hand and its latest victim in the other, with the goose visibly bleeding from several places, including its head, on November 29.

The farmer caught the owl right after it attacked his goose with the help of several other villagers from Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, China.

Locals reported the owl targeted the geese at night, using its sharp talons and beak.

The farmer said: 'The owl tore apart the flesh on the geese's chests and even broke open their heads. It only preys on live geese.'

After it was caught, villagers called the police, and forestry officials arrived soon after.

The bird, reportedly an eagle owl, is a nationally protected species and was handed over to wildlife experts for a health check.

Officials stated that if the bird is deemed healthy, it will be transferred to a local zoo, where it can no longer damage local farms.
