Zoo visitor gives piece of orange to orangutan through glass
This is the heartwarming moment a zoo visitor offered a piece of orange to an orangutan through a glass panel.
The woman fed the primate by pushing the fruit through the narrow gap in its enclosure at Longzhimeng Animal World in Huzhou, Zhejiang, on November 8.
Footage shows the ape using a stick to pull the snack inside. However, due to the small space, the fruit barely fit through.
It can also be seen tasting the small stick after poking it at the fruit.
This prompted the visitor to push the orange further through the gap. The animal then used its teeth to pull the treat in and managed to eat it.
The filmer said: 'We wanted to give the animal something to eat. Since we had an orange, we decided to share it with him.'
Orangutans are known as one of the smartest primates. They use tools to make their lives easier, such as turning branches into fly swatters, using leaves as bandages, and even constructing umbrellas.
