A four-member panda family is now living a happy and leisurely life in Macao.

The parents, Kaikai and Xinxin, were chosen from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding as a gift of the central government to Macao Special Administrative Region in 2015.

They gave birth to twin brothers Jianjian and Kangkang here in 2016.

"The arrival of the giant pandas was a great happy event for us, and it has brought a lot of joy to our residents. Secondly, I think their arrival also raises our awareness of animal conservation and environmental protection, so I think this is of great significance. I went to Chengdu for a month to learn how to raise giant pandas before the first batch of giant pandas came. I also learned how to arrange and manage their food preferences like bamboos, and venues, etc."

"Every day, the first thing we do is to check the giant pandas' moods and conditions, and then start to prepare bamboo and water for their playground, prepare them to meet the audience, and check on some facilities.
We have always cooperated with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan Province. Whether we go there to study, or their experts come to Macao to train us, we have always maintained a long-term training and cooperation relationship."
