This is the heroic moment a Coast Guard chopper rescues a stricken cruise ship passenger.
Authorities said the 64-year-old woman was suffering from an abdominal medical emergency on Monday, December 2.
Footage shows the MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter crew conducting the medical evacuation from the Celebrity Apex cruise ship, around 140 nautical miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
Officials sent a rescue swimmer to the ship, who used a basket to lift the woman, her spouse, and a cruise ship nurse into the aircraft.
The team then flew the patient to Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she was handed over to emergency medical personnel and transported to Centro Medico Hospital.
