A crane truck gang has been arrested over ATM heists across Spain.

The Guardia Civil has dismantled a criminal gang that used stolen crane trucks to steal ATMs in at least 19 robberies across Almeria, Alicante, Valencia, Tarragona, and Barcelona.

The 'Plumajero' operation uncovered a scheme that netted over half a million euros.

The investigation started in February following a robbery in Cartagena, Murcia, where the gang reportedly stole 45,000 Euros using a crane truck to yank an ATM.

Detectives traced similar patterns in other regions, linking the crimes to the same group.

The gang used stolen or fake vehicles, targeted rural banks, and used industrial equipment to extract cash from the ATMs.

After each heist, the group would leave Spain for months before returning to continue their operations.

Seven Albanian suspects, many with extensive criminal backgrounds, were arrested in raids across Tarragona, Madrid, Murcia, Toledo, and Alicante.

Authorities seized tools, €42,720 in cash, and equipment to disable vehicle security systems.

The suspects are now in custody under orders from the Cartagena court. Investigators work to link the gang to additional crimes and recover more stolen funds.
