Melbourne, Australia - November 30, 2024 A highway drive turned into a life-threatening ordeal for a Melbourne woman as she fought off a venomous tiger snake slithering up her leg while behind the wheel. Victoria Police responded on November 30 after the barefoot driver, in shock, waved down passing cars on the roadside. The woman revealed she had felt something brush her foot while driving, only to discover the deadly reptile climbing her leg. Incredibly, she managed to fend off the snake, maintain control of her vehicle, and pull over safely. Paramedics examined her for bites, while Melbourne Snake Control was called to remove the serpent, later identified as a tiger snake—one of the world’s top 10 deadliest species. Footage from the incident shows the woman’s car parked on the shoulder as snake handlers removed the predator, holding it by its tail. The dramatic extraction left passing drivers stunned as the large yellow-striped serpent, measuring up to 5 feet, was pulled from the vehicle. Known for its potent venom and tiger-like stripes, the tiger snake made an unforgettable impression. The woman escaped unharmed but remains a chilling reminder of the lurking dangers on Australian roads.
