Los Angeles, United States - December 04, 2024 12/04/2024 11:30 am (GMT-0800) SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an unknown call on the beach near Paseo Del Mar and Meyler Street. Engine 101 responded and found a victim with a gunshot wound deceased on the beach, prompting a request for the Los Angeles Police Department to respond to the scene. LAPD Harbor Division officers arrived and established a perimeter around the area. Officers were seen canvassing the adjacent neighborhood, searching for security cameras. An LAPD spokesperson told KNN that a homicide investigation ensued after a male victim, between 30 and 35 years old, was found under a staircase with a gunshot wound in the 900 block of Paseo Del Mar. The LAFD paramedics pronounced the victim deceased. At this time, it is unknown if the incident is gang-related, and the victim was not homeless. South Bureau Homicide is handling the investigation.
