On the afternoon of December 5th, a ceiling collapse occurred at the new campus of Chaozhou Central Hospital in Guangdong Province, injuring four patients.

According to an incident report issued by the hospital that evening, the collapse happened during facility maintenance being carried out by the construction team. Due to improper operations and a failure to cordon off the work area, a worker climbed onto the ceiling for maintenance, causing part of the ceiling in front of the outpatient pharmacy on the first floor to collapse. The falling debris struck several people waiting to collect their prescriptions, injuring four individuals.

The hospital promptly organised treatment for the injured. One person suffered a fractured shin and head trauma and has been admitted for further care. Three others sustained minor soft tissue injuries, with one also hospitalised while the other two were treated and discharged. As of now, all injured individuals are in stable condition.
