US: Migrant Smuggler Transports Illegal Immigrants with Open Trunk
United States - November 28, 2024 A high-speed chase on Thanksgiving Day ended with the arrest of Felipe Montez, a smuggler transporting 18 illegal immigrants with the trunk of his Dodge Caravan wide open. During the pursuit, law enforcement could see multiple migrants visibly sticking out of the open rear hatch. Montez eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled into the brush, while some of the migrants ran in different directions. With the assistance of Border Patrol, all 18 migrants, who were from Mexico, were apprehended. Montez was charged with smuggling persons and evading arrest, and the migrants were turned over to Border Patrol for processing.
