Schoolboy builds homemade radio to receive news broadcasts in China
A schoolboy built a homemade radio to receive news broadcasts in China.
Footage shows the talented pupil adjusting the handmade device, which operates without the use of electricity, to capture a better radio signal in Yingcheng, Hubei, on November 23.
The device demonstrates basic electromagnetic principles to secure audio signals from the air.
Moments later, he managed to achieve a successful reception, and a broadcaster could be heard through the speaker.
The DIY radio was constructed based on the principles of a crystal radio set, which does not require any power source to function.
He said: 'The ambient radio signals are omnipresent and can be harnessed through electromagnetic induction.
'By connecting a simple antenna to a specially designed circuit, the radio picked up these signals, allowing for the reception of live broadcasts without the need for batteries or external power.'
