This is the amusing moment a child interacted with a baby chimpanzee at Beijing Zoo.

The energetic primate, wearing a blue onesie, rocked its crib as it saw the young visitor in Daxing, China, on November 26.

Footage shows the girl hiding at first and then suddenly standing in front of the glass, appearing to play a peek-a-boo game with the monkey.

The curious baby animal can be seen enjoying the surprise as it jumps on its bed.

It even attempted to peek under the enclosure by leaning forward to see the girl. The child can be seen laughing as she watches the chimpanzee's reaction.

The mother of the child said: 'It was entertaining to see both of them engaging with each other. My daughter is happy to see the baby chimpanzee.'
