A Scientology float collapsed during a protest at the Hollywood Christmas Parade on December 1.
Footage captured by Jessica Palmadessa shows the large balloon deflating along the parade route in Los Angeles, sparking vocal reactions from nearby demonstrators.
The cause of the collapse remains unclear. There were no injuries reported.
Scientology, founded by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard in the 1950s, is a religious movement based on the teachings in his book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. It emphasizes spiritual growth and mental well-being, focusing on the belief that humans are spiritual beings, or 'thetans,' distinct from their bodies and minds.
