New York, United States - December 06, 2024 China supports reducing the negative impact of sanctions on humanitarian and people's livelihood, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Geng Shuang said on Friday at a UN Security Council meeting. During the meeting on general issues related to sanctions, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted the Resolution 2761 (2024), extending the humanitarian exemption for the UN 1267 ISIL and Al-Qaida Sanctions Regime indefinitely. Geng said in his statement that China hopes that the UN Security Council member states and humanitarian organizations will implement well the resolution.
