Reckless e-scooter rider risks life travelling along motorway during Storm Darragh
This is the moment a reckless e-scooter rider risked his life by travelling at 10mph along a busy motorway during Storm Darragh.
The man was filmed riding along the Aston Expressway in Birmingham as the city was battered by 60mph winds over the weekend.
Dressed in a long black jacket and a balaclava, he can be seen slowly ambling down the middle lane of the motorway in dark conditions and heavy rain.
The footage, obtained by the Birmz Is Grime blog, was filmed on Saturday (7/12) on the same day a man died in Birmingham when a tree fell on his car.
The video has been viewed thousands of times since being uploaded to social media where baffled residents expressed their dismay.
The Aston Expressway is a motorway, but with a 50mph speed limit, and one of the busiest commuter routes into and out of Birmingham.
One web user said: "Not a brightest idea on the best of days but to do it during that storm is braindead moronic. Must have a death wish."
Another added: "Lucky he wasn't killed....dark clothes, no helmet, madness."
A third put: "How the f** he stay on that in these winds?"
Another commented: "The budget hit Batman hard too.. downsized to a scooter" while another added: "His Batmobile was repossessed"
Another wrote: "is that darth vader heading downtown for the fancy dress xmas doo ??"
West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.
