Virginia Beach, United States - December 07, 2024 The USS Oak Hill (LSD 51), a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship, returned to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story on December 7, 2024, after a seven-month deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. During the deployment, more than 4,000 Sailors and Marines assigned to the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSPARG) participated in a variety of interoperability exercises, enhancing combat readiness, crisis response capabilities, and deepening relationships with NATO allies and partners. The ship’s return marks a successful mission, reinforcing U.S. commitment to global security.
