"Despite these difficulties, one sees China growing in a robust manner. And we can see it in the numbers on agriculture, in the numbers on manufacturing and, of course, the trade numbers as well. We have seen how emerging technologies, including AI, 5G, EV revolution, are taking over the Chinese manufacturing sector. China will remain a leader globally."

"China's economic stability is extremely important for the international financial stability. So, in terms of global economic growth, China is trying to work with other peer economies to really keep growth stable, keep growth at a level, where, of course, additional jobs can be created."

Ahmed also affirmed the positive role of the Belt and Road Initiative in promoting economic growth for related countries.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): VAQAR AHMED, Joint executive director, Sustainable Development Policy Institute
"I think BRI has been win-win for China and its counterparts, where, of course, BRI was implemented, or is still being implemented. We saw it in case of Central and South Asia, in case of Africa, that several projects and programs were launched. And on the back of those programs, of course, we see that Chinese trade partners have gained in terms of improved productivity. BRI investments have led to improved infrastructure in energy, in road, railways, sports, for example."
