This is the amusing moment a sparrow joined a worker at her desk for a sip of iced coffee.

The bird suddenly flew to the woman's workspace and perched on the rim of her cup in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows the feathered creature bathing in the water and splashing around.

The employee attempted to shoo the avian away, but it refused to leave, continuing to jump in and around the container.

She thought that the bird might have been feeling hot and was drawn to the iced water.

She said: 'I was helpless because the bird was determined to just stay around. I just let it be because it was a bit hot that day.'

Birds don't have sweat glands, so they use water to cool down through evaporation. As water evaporates from their feathers, it takes heat with it, helping to regulate their body temperature.
