Script:
Firefighters are battling a wind-driven brush fire in Malibu Canyon near Pepperdine University, prompting evacuations for nearby residents.

The blaze, named the Franklin Fire, was first reported shortly after 10:45 p.m. Monday near South Malibu Canyon Road and Station Boundary, just south of the Piuma area, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Footage filmed and shared by Joey Jay shows intense flames engulfing hillsides while helicopters fly overhead, attempting to douse the spreading fire.

Cal Fire reports that the fire has already scorched 2,200 acres, with strong winds and dry conditions fueling its rapid growth. Fire crews continue to work tirelessly to protect lives and property.
