Gaza Strip - December 07, 2024 The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 44,758, with 106,134 others injured, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement released on Tuesday. The Gaza government media office reported on Tuesday that 1,059 medical personnel and 709 police and aid workers have been killed in the region from the outbreak of the Palestine-Israel conflict on October 7 last year to December 9 this year. According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli military operations in Izbat Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday resulted in at least 20 deaths and multiple injuries. Earlier that day, Israeli strikes in northern Gaza's Beit Lahia killed six people, while an attack on the Maghazi refugee camp left two dead. The Israel Defense Forces continued to target hospitals and medical personnel in Gaza. Recent attacks have included strikes on the Indonesia Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital, reported the WAFA. United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk on Monday expressed deep concern about the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, noting a trend towards escalation in the region.
