Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva underwent a successful craniotomy to drain a subdural hematoma, a hemorrhage that could be linked to a fall he suffered on October 19 at his home, according to a medical statement published by the Brazilian government. Lula is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Syrian-Lebanese hospital in Sao Paulo, and is "well" and being monitored, the statement added.
