Freeze feline! Pet cat stands still in hunting pose
This is the amusing moment a pet cat stood still in a hunting pose.
The tabby feline was spotted motionless as it seemingly observed its prey lurking underneath the boardwalk at a local park in Zhejiang, China, on November 30.
Footage shows the furry creature glaring at the ground with its ears upright and fur slightly raised, as if anticipating prey.
The filmer said: 'I thought it was a well-made statue, but when I looked at it closely, I was surprised to discover that it was a cat.'
Cats become motionless when tracking prey to minimize movement and avoid detection. This stillness allows them to focus their senses, particularly their keen vision and hearing, on the target.
By remaining still, they can better assess the prey's position, movements, and any potential threats. Additionally, a motionless cat can blend in with its surroundings, making it harder for the prey to spot them.
