Volcano has his hat on as spectacular clouds form around peak
Mount Apo had a spectacular hat-shaped cloud formation covering around its peak in the Philippines.
Footage shows the volcano with lenticular clouds draped over its top portion in Davao del Sur province on December 9.
The mass of clouds was white and looked like a soft cloth veil seemingly worn by the cone-shaped body of land.
It was spotted by Peter John Bermoy Lebo who was doing photography in the scenic place when it happened.
Peter said: 'Mount Apo was so beautiful. The clouds formed around 6:21 pm before dark.'
Before the hat clouds formed, swirling vortex clouds in the sky were also seen.
Clouds that form above a mountain and look like a hat are called lenticular clouds that sit directly atop the mountain peak. These clouds are shaped like a smooth dome.
