Worker dies when artificial ski slope gives way during dismantling works
A worker died when an artificial ski slope collapsed during dismantling works in Russia.
Dramatic footage shows the massive structure suddenly crashing down with terrifying force in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, on December 9.
A second scene reveals emergency services carrying the injured employee on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance after the falling debris reportedly crushed him.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Moscow Region said: 'The prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation into the death of a worker at a construction site in the urban district of Krasnogorsk.
'According to preliminary data, today at approximately 11:30am, during dismantling work on a ski resort located in the Krasnogorsk urban district, a metal structure fell on a worker.
'The victim died in an ambulance from his injuries.
'As part of the inspection, the Krasnogorsk City Prosecutor's Office will assess the contractor's compliance with labour protection and safety legislation.
'Based on its results, a comprehensive set of prosecutorial response measures will be adopted.
'In addition, the progress and results of the pre-investigation check conducted by the investigative body are monitored by the city prosecutor's office.'
