Residents began experiencing the winter season when snow fell in Himachal Pradesh on December 8.

Footage shows cars struggling to manoeuvre along the slippery pathways, causing some vehicles to slide downhill.

Locals in Shimla City said that they witnessed a light snowfall in the evening after several years of no snow.

Media reported that nearly two inches of snow blanketed the streets of Kufri and Narkanda.

Due to the severe weather conditions, vehicles were reportedly stuck on the roads, with drivers pushing them out of the way.

The heavy snowfall in the region has led to the closure of 87 roads, resulting in power outages, travel disruptions, and intense cold conditions for locals.

Police reported a tourist from New Delhi, Bhishan Garg, 49, died on December 8 when his car skidded on the icy road and collided with a parked tipper in the Lahaul Spiti district while three individuals sustained injuries.

Authorities advise residents to take precautions during this season as road incidents are common.
