Thousands of termites invade Singapore university
Thousands of termites invaded buildings at a university in Singapore.
The swarm appeared at night, flying around light fixtures in several parts of Nanyang Technological University on November 29.
Footage shows the bugs drifting in mass under bright bulbs at night. Student Martin Ruzicka saw them by the lamp posts while more were found inside buildings.
Martin opened the door to the toilet where the window was left open, and there was a swarm.
At the entrance, the insects also gathered, as did the stairways.
Martin said: 'Now is the rainy or monsoon season, which is also the mating season for termites.'
