This is the terrifying moment a landslide swallows a row of homes during floods in Indonesia.

Footage shows the buildings being dramatically engulfed by raging floodwater as the ground collapsed in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, on December 9.

Authorities said the house belonged to a resident named Juju in Cikaduen Halte Village, Kadu Dampit Village, Saketi District.

Kadu Village Head Dampit Tantowi said: 'Yes, there was a house that collapsed in a landslide due to the high intensity of the rain, causing the river to overflow and a landslide.'

The local official confirmed no fatalities had occurred since residents had evacuated.

Torrential rains have battered the region since last week, causing rivers to burst their banks. Indonesian rescuers have retrieved at least 10 bodies swept away in flash floods striking hilly towns on the country's main island of Java, with two people reportedly missing.

The region is bracing for further severe weather, with meteorologists warning of three tropical cyclones that could bring intense rainfall to various regions.

The extreme weather is expected to affect areas in both western and eastern Indonesia in the coming days, bringing heavy rainfall and high waves.

In separate incidents, landslides in Karo, Padang Lawas, and Tapanuli Selatan districts killed 11 people, while flash floods in Deli Serdang claimed four lives on November 23.

On November 16, a cliff landslide buried a main road in Tadokalua Village, Tabang District, Mamasa Regency, West Sulawesi. The incident has cut off access for thousands of residents.

Landslides are common in Indonesia, particularly during the rainy season. The risk is further exacerbated by deforestation and illegal mining activities in remote areas.
