Truck transporting sand topples over before slamming into oncoming bus in China
Around noon on December 9, in Xinhhuang, Hunan Province, a sand-laden truck overturned on a curve along National Highway G242 and collided with an oncoming passenger bus.
Video footage shows the truck losing control while turning, its body gradually tipping over and spilling sand across the road. The momentum from the overturn caused the truck to crash directly into an approaching bus. The impact severely damaged the front passenger side of the bus, scattering shards of glass everywhere, leaving the scene in disarray.
Emergency rescue teams quickly arrived on-site following the accident. Authorities confirmed that 16 people were injured, but no fatalities occurred. Among the injured, 15 sustained minor injuries, and one suffered moderate injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
