United States - December 11, 2024 The Yakima County Sheriff's Office said a final, emotional goodbye to K9 Zuza, who passed away recently. The funeral, captured on video, was attended by friends and law enforcement partners, who shared memories and expressed their deep affection for the dog that served with unwavering dedication. Zuza retired on December 29, 2022, after a stellar career that included 138 captures, with some of her most notable achievements being the apprehension of dangerous criminals. For nearly five years, Zuza was a loyal partner to Deputy N. Ward, and her presence provided comfort and reassurance to fellow officers while deterring suspects. "She received so many scratches, and there wasn’t a dry eye amongst us," the Sheriff's Office shared, acknowledging the profound bond shared with the community and her law enforcement family. K9 Zuza's legacy of service and loyalty will never be forgotten.
