Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Ankara on Thursday, according to a statement from the Turkish presidency.
The meeting took place at Ankara Esenboga Airport, as reported by the semi-official Anadolu Agency. Blinken arrived in the Turkish capital following a visit to Jordan and is scheduled to meet Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday.
Blinken's visit focused on discussions regarding Syria's ongoing political crisis, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
Syria's political transition and broader regional dynamics, including developments in Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon are also expected to be discussed, said the ministry.
