Vienna, Austria - Recent The Austrian government said it has started preparations for a deportation program for Syrians living in the country. Millions of refugees now face the risk of being sent back to Syria where the recent fall of the government and the takeover by the oppisitions have sent the country into uncertainty. Syrian refugee Ibrahim Hame hopes to stay in Austria, despite the country's deportation plans. Originally from Northern Syria, Hame was only 14 when he fled to Vienna and then worked his way up. He is now running his own business. Vienna's Brunnenmarkt is a prominent cultural center of the Syrian diaspora. But many of the people here would soon be forced to return home. The Austrian government said it started a reassessment of about 40,000 Syrians granted status in the country over the last five years. The repatriation plan is set to provide flights for those who return voluntarily, but those who did not find work and are not integrated, face being forcefully deported. After Germany, Austria has taken in the most Syrian refugees than any other European country. But the willingness to host more is dwindling. During the recent parliamentary elections, the migration-critical Freedom Party gained the most votes. The country's office for immigration and asylum says it won't deport people whilst the situation in Syria remains volatile, so it's still unclear if and when enforced repatriations will go ahead. At present, Hame continues to run his barbershop hoping he won't be affected by the government's plans. Shotlist: Vienna, Austria - Recent: 1. Barber shop; 2.
