SOUNDBITE (Khmer): NETH PHEAKTRA, Cambodian Information Minister
"As technology advances, artificial intelligence has enormous potential for the media. Our goal is not only to adopt these new technologies but also to find ways to make good use of these means in order to improve the quality of reporting and the efficiency of media coverage."
The minister said the forum not only highlighted close cultural and information ties, but also demonstrated a joint commitment to boosting bilateral relations between the two countries.
"We will work together to create a new chapter in the Cambodia-China media relationship in order to inject fresh impetus into the building of a Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era," Pheaktra said.
Chen Cong, minister-counsellor of the Chinese Embassy to Cambodia, said the media has played a crucial role in promoting China-Cambodia relations and people-to-people exchange.
"The media outlets of our two countries have always acted as active participants and strong supporters of the friendly cooperation between our two countries," he said.
Chen said AI has a profound and far-reaching impact on society, people, politics, economics, social development and other spheres, and has also brought a profound impact on the transformation of the media industry.
He said cooperation in AI has great potential for the media industry of the two countries.
The forum was co-organized by Cambodia's Ministry of Information and the Asian and African Languages Programming Center of China Media Group.
