US, Los Angeles: Fontana Sheared Hydrant Showers Power Lines After Hit and Run Crash
Los Angeles, United States - December 13, 2024 12/13/2024 09:30 pm (GMT-0800) FONTANA, Calif. – On Friday, December 13, just before 9:30 p.m., medical personnel with the San Bernardino County Fire Department located a sheared fire hydrant on the 13900 block of Santa Ana Avenue in the city of Fontana. Fire Personnel requested Fontana PD for traffic control while they attempted to shut down the hydrant. No vehicle was located at the scene, and the San Bernardino County Fire Department was unsuccessful in shutting off water to the hydrant, therefore requesting the Water Department. Additionally, Edison was asked to respond due to possible collision damage to a power pole. The fire hydrant expended water for over 45 minutes in this incident.
