Writers, publishers, and scholars gathered at Singapore's China Cultural Center on Sunday for the "New Wave of Chinese Literature" global promotion initiative.
With a series of activities, the initiative hopes to further narrow the distance between Chinese writers and overseas readers through face-to-face interaction.
Some renowned Chinese writers shared how southern China's landscapes and traditions influenced their work at the event.
Singapore Association of Writers president Henry Low Swee Kim emphasized the importance of deepening literary ties between China and Singapore and expressed hope for more exchanges.
Guided by the China Writers Association, the event is expected to be held in more countries.
