Mechanics removed a monitor lizard that was stuck under a customer's car.

The employees had to extract the reptile from under a white Isuzu vehicle when a driver came to their service centre for assistance in Pathum Thani province, Thailand.

Footage shows the SUV being lifted in the garage before workers checked underneath. They used an umbrella to chase it out until a colleague got hold of its tail and pulled it out.

The animal then scampered away and disappeared to the back of the property.

Asian water monitor lizards normally live in canals, swamps, sewers and ponds in cities in Thailand. They feed on fish, snakes, frogs and scraps of food left by humans.

The reptiles are aggressive when threatened and have a mildly venomous bite which sometimes carries harmful bacteria. The Godzilla-like reptiles are also a protected species in the country so their population thrives.
