A Coruña, Spain - December 15, 2024 The Guardia Civil has seized 229 kilograms of cocaine, valued at over €7.5 million, during an inspection at the Port of A Coruña. The drugs were hidden in the refrigeration circuits of the Panamanian-flagged ship Energy Glory. The routine check uncovered eight bales containing numerous packages of cocaine, amounting to a total of 234 kilos. The vessel, which had previously stopped in Huelva, was carrying 25,000 kilograms of flour, but the drugs were concealed in the cooling system, not in the cargo. No crew members have been arrested yet, though the Guardia Civil has launched an investigation. The ship, traveling from Brazil, was flagged as a "hot zone," prompting the inspection that confirmed the presence of narcotics. Authorities continue their efforts to identify those responsible for the shipment.
