In Northern India Buddhist Monks in Bodhgaya protest march against atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh

A protest march was taken out in Bodh Gaya on 15 December, Sunday against the atrocities and violence against Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains in Bangladesh.

Women and girls also took part in the protest and raised slogans against the rule of Bangladesh. Everyone held placards in their hands and appealed to the central government to control the situation in Bangladesh.

People associated with various organizations participated in the protest march organized under the banner of Dharma Sanskriti Sangam. Monks from Buddhist monasteries located in Bodh Gaya also participated in it.

The protest march started from Maya Sarovar Udyan, passed through Mahabodhi Temple, Kalachakra Maidan and ended near Hanuman Temple at Rajapur Mod.

Bhikkhu Saisana, in-charge of Laos Buddhist Monastery, said that Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists are being tortured under government patronage in Bangladesh and temples along with Buddhist monasteries are being burnt.

Women are being raped. It was said that all this is happening in Bangladesh under the protection of the interim government there, Mohammad Yunus. Therefore, the Indian government should intervene in this matter and take immediate action to control the situation. Said that the peace award given to Mohd Yunus for protecting minorities in Bangladesh should be withdrawn.

Many Buddhist monks led by Bhikkhu Saisana, in-charge of Laos Buddhist Monastery, were joined by Magadh University professor Prof. Ekta Verma and others.
