Fireworks were launched from high-rise apartment blocks in Russia.

Reckless residents fired pyrotechnics from apartment windows and courtyards of high-rise buildings, narrowly avoiding a potential disaster in Moscow.

Instead of an amusing show, worried locals called emergency services to report the people behind the fireworks display.

Authorities started an investigation and warned those living inside the blocks to avoid using fireworks.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) urged people to avoid drinking alcohol while using fireworks. They said to never ignite them indoors or from balconies and to ensure they are not directed toward people, buildings, trees, or power lines.
