US: Ohio Trooper Uncovers $14.26 Million in Drugs During Routine Traffic Stop

United States - August 03, 2024 A routine traffic stop on a semi-truck in Madison County led to the discovery of $14.26 million worth of drugs, including cocaine and methamphetamine. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared body cam footage from the stop, which occurred in August 2024. In the video, the trooper explains to the truck driver that the stop was initiated after noticing erratic driving, including swerving and expired trailer plates. Suspicious about the driver's travel timeline, the trooper decided to inspect the vehicle further. During the search, officers uncovered 17.6 pounds of cocaine and 300 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the truck's trailer. The estimated street value of the drugs is $14.26 million. The 41-year-old truck driver now faces felony charges related to drug trafficking.
