A father tackled a challenging obstacle course with impressive ease - and won gold.

Jayson Tan, 53, took on the 100 metre long series of hurdles at the National Obstacle Game for the middle-age range category in Manila, the Philippines.

Footage shows the gymgoer hopping over a bridge and hanging through steel bars on December 15.

He balanced along a pole and did another course of monkey bar before swinging across on a large rope.

Jayson rested for a second and stretched before doing the final obstacle - running his way to the top of a slide.

He said: 'I was the oldest in the age group, and my fellow competitors were in their 40s. Truly, age is just a number.'

The proud father went to his family, who cheered for him at the finish line. He credited his strength and agility to working out regularly and eating healthily.
