Rope and resolve: A confounding fitness regimen spotted in gym
This is the bizarre moment that a man engaged in an unconventional workout by using a rope connected from his neck to gym equipment, a variation of the Nordic curl exercise.
On December 15, 2024, Dongguan, Guangdong, the video showcased the man executing his fitness routine inside a local gym. He was seen with a rope securely fastened around his neck, the other end attached to a piece of stationary gym equipment.
Despite the unusual setup, the individual proceeded with his exercises, performing what appeared to be a series of Nordic curls, a known workout for strengthening the hamstrings.
Viewers online were quick to comment on the video, humorously noting that the man “chose hypoxia over oxygen” during his workout, blending humor with concern over the safety of such exercises.
The video ended without any visible harm to the man but left viewers questioning the safety and effectiveness of such a unique approach to fitness.
