A cycling influencer was killed while making a TikTok live video in front of an oncoming train in Thailand.

Wiroj Arunkhet, 51, had dropped his wife, a teacher, and daughter at school before going for a morning ride Ratchaburi, Thailand, on December 18.

He stopped at the Chulalongkorn Railway Bridge to set up a tripod before recording a video and then starting a live stream for his followers about the cycling route.

But the fitness fanatic appeared to have been distracted as a passenger locomotive glided along the tracks as full speed - striking him and dragging him under the wheels.

Police found Wiroj's phone still recording among the wreckage of his crushed tripod and mangled limbs.

The cyclist's devastated wife Wanwadee Sriphueak, 49, seen in the video wearing a blue shirt, rushed to the railway bridge after being told of the accident. The distraught woman cried as officers informed her of what happened.

The mother-of-two said Wiroj often made TikTok videos about cycling, exercise, and tourism in the morning, before returning home to teach English online. He had just dropped off his son at school on the morning of his death.

The grieving wife said: 'I thought he would live long because he was so strong, healthy, and he had no vices like drinking or smoking. I'm devastated because we just lost the pillar of our family.

'I cannot understand how he was hit by the train. He was so sensible and careful with everything he did.'

Police Major Phusanisa Chanrat of the Mueang Ratchaburi Police Station said police received a report at 8:15 am.

Officers collected the human remains in a bag. They also found Wiroj's phone still intact, with his last broadcast saved on the device.

The clip showed him in biking gear, crouched near the tracks as he spoke to the phone camera.

The officer said: 'Police and forensics experts were dispatched to the scene. They found his body parts scattered on the railway.

'We are continuing the investigation into the incident.'

The train driver, Noppadol Ruenpetch, 58, said: 'I saw the man setting up a camera on a tripod and recording on the railway. I blew the train whistle to warn him to move away, but he could not escape in time.

'I couldn't halt the train right away either. The train crashed into him and dragged him for more 50 meters.'

On September 17, three people were killed when a train struck their pickup truck at a level crossing in Chumphon province.

While on July 8, five passengers died in a similar accident in Phichit province.
