Footage shows residents living above a tea house being rescued following an alleged arson attack fire that killed at least 11 in Vietnam.

Seven locals were lifted from the second floor of the building, with five in stable condition and two hospitalised, following the blaze in Hanoi on December 18.

Dozens of firefighters and fire trucks were dispatched to contain the inferno, which had already spread to a neighbouring house.

The video shows firefighters rescuing two exhausted victims and dousing them with water.

Rescuers searched the building to retrieve the bodies, which were wrapped in blankets.

Police reported finding 11 dead inside the tea house in the early hours of Thursday morning, December 19, at around 3 am local time.

Local media reported that a 51-year-old customer allegedly set the teahouse on fire using petrol after a dispute with staff.

The suspect reportedly ignited the fire on the first floor and blocked the escape route, causing workers and other customers to become trapped inside the establishment.
