STORYLINE:
A floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) ship embarked on its maiden voyage on Monday, departing the shipbuilding hub of Qidong in east China's Jiangsu Province.
The ship is bound for ultra-deep Brazilian waters, where it will be used in an oil development project.
The ship is 334 meters long, 60 meters wide, and has a displacement tonnage of 460,000 tonnes.
Hailed as a floating "oil refinery," the ship is designed for a daily production of 180,000 barrels of oil and for a daily processing of 12 million standard cubic meters of natural gas.
