This is the terrifying moment a wild monkey rampaged through a university classroom in Taiwan.

The seemingly hungry macaque entered the room at National Sun Yat-Sen University in Kaohsiung on December 17.

Footage shows the primate sitting on a table, rummaging through items on the desks.

Moments later, it approached a student and attempted to take her jacket, prompting the woman to scream in fear.

Startled by the loud yell, the monkey quickly fled, while other students could be heard laughing in the background.

The student reportedly did not sustain any injuries from the encounter.

Monkeys, like other animals, can become aggressive when they feel threatened or cornered. Risks from monkey bites include serious wound infections, the herpes B virus, and rabies.

Locals speculated that the monkey, unable to find food in the forest during winter, wandered onto campus to search for something to eat.
