The Philippine Coast Guard tackled a cargo ship fire in Manila Bay.

A large blaze broke out aboard the dredger vessel MV HYNZ 31 on Thursday, December 19, prompting the PCG to rush to the scene.

Footage shows a huge plume of smoke billowing from the front section of the craft.

The authorities deployed two patrol vessels, BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407) and BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406), along with personnel from Coast Guard Station (CGS) Manila, to contain the blaze and provide assistance.

An investigation into the incident is now underway, with the Coast Guard confirming no injuries were reported.
